Puppy Purchasing
To start I am not a quantity breeder. I breed for a quality pups, ones that are whelped from dams and sires that both have the traits of being a bird dog. This means both parents have a strong desire for birds, no gun shy issues, are passing OFA, and are healthy.
My in house pups where I own both dams and sires pups start at $800 M/F.
When I go to an outside stud, depending on the stud and if it is live or artificial insemination, prices will vary on the breeding costs and other factors.
Almost all my litters I have a waiting list. Starting in 2010 I am requesting a 50 dollar non refundable deposit to be put on the list. Then at time of whelping I will request another 150.00 towards your pup. I will give up to 3 weeks of age to receive part 2 of monies towards your pup (unless other arrangements have been discussed and agreed upon). If I do not receive the 150 minimum by the time the pups are 3 weeks old, I will consider this to be that you are no longer interested in pup and the 50 dollars will be forfeited and I will let the next person on the list know a pup is available. The rest of the money is due when you come pick up your puppy .
Puppy Pick Up ..I do not let my pups go anytime before 7 weeks of age. Also being in the desert I will not guarantee shipping and request the new owner look into the limitations of airlines . Cost of crate shipping, health certeificate, etc. are all sole responsibility of the new owner. At 7 weeks old pup will already be used to a collar and will have been out in the field, exposed to birds, the chain gang and they will be familiar with a leash. Many times the pups will have already had crate and travel time by this age. Additionally, they will have been D-Wormed and have had 2 sets of shots. At 6 weeks they are given Ivermectin so they will already be on a heartworm regime. My pups are also microchipped before they leave me.
I AKC and FDSB register my pups and I also nominate them for the Brittany Futurity's.
I do not mind hanging on to pups for a longer duration but please be advised I do not just let the pups sit in a kennel being ignored. They will enter into my puppy program and they continue to receive attention, shots and such. After 9 weeks of age I charge 100 dollars a week for puppy handling. This will cover their shots and will include more chain gang puppy, running, exposure to birds, check cord work, etc. Basically they will be in puppy foundation training like I do with my pups conditioning them to be future bird dogs.
Any medical happenings should something unforeseen happen if you own the pup the vet costs are your responsibility.
My Puppy Health Guarantee :
I guarantee your pup to be free of genetic health problems for the 1st year.
I guarantee the hips until 27 months of age by this time you should have had the hips evaluated by OFA. If the hips are not evaluated by OFA by 27 months of age, the guarantee is terminated Or if you breed your dog before you have an official OFA Permanent Certification the guarantee is void.
Should a genetic health issue arise within the first year months of age contact me immediately. Upon receipt with the pups microchip number included on documents of the health issues from a licensed veterinarian or the Permanent OFA results and proof of spay/neuter of said pup, I will then replace original pup with another puppy from a future in house litter.

Older Pup-Dog Purchasing
I on many occasions will have older pups and dog for sale at varying levels of field exposure and training levels available I hold back pups to evaluate my program some times these dog though all should make companion bird hunters at minimum may not be what I would consider to use for my purposes or I might find that they should be in the hands of someone that can give them the chances I may not be able to give them.
I will disclose what and why I am selling the dog it can be simple things like I don't care for the coat or how a dog points or something in the conformation of the dog what many average weekend hunter will consider a petty reason to sell a dog. I wish I could keep all the dogs but being a breeder one needs to evaluate with an open eye and selling these dogs is not easy but knowing they are going to a new home that will make a family or someone happy can be a gratifying experience also.
Hip Dysplasia
If I have a dog that will not pass OFA this does not mean the dog can not make for a long time hunting companion or even a potential weekend trailer depending on what level of HD. Though all my breeding stock is OFA passing I will not try and make people believe all puppy's can or will be perfect I am not God and can only have so much influence on genetics. A dog that is border line to even moderate can live a long healthy life hunt hard as long as they get proper diet and maintenance. To NOTE: I have dogs that have been altered which with a mild hip at 11 shows no physical signs and my first Brittany also altered was severely dysplastic he hunted and was my primary guide dog till almost 7 before I had Femoral Head Ostectomies done on him and he went on to hunt and guide extensively till he 11 and after that he still guided on light hunts till he was 13 before I finally had to retire him. Please do not take this like I am selling a bunch of non passing animals but I will step up to the plate and be honest that if a person breeds their animals it isn't a matter of IF something happens it is a matter of when. I do what I can to give my pups the best chances Like only use Animals that pass OFA and make sure the Dams and Sires are free of any known genetic health issues as I know the heart ache of having to deal with issues where one has to make that heart breaking choice and do not wish that on anyone but again HD isn't the end of the world it is the end or should be the end of a breeding program with that particular dog that is affected.
